  • Author: Amelia
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Grilled Chicken

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Tortelloni

  • 1 lb cheese-filled tortelloni (store-bought or homemade)

For the Asiago Alfredo Sauce

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Asiago cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Garnish (Optional)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Extra grated Asiago or Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Grilled Chicken

  1. Season the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Rub them with olive oil, then sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper evenly on both sides.
  2. Grill the Chicken: Preheat a grill pan or outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Step 2: Cook the Tortelloni

  1. Boil the Tortelloni: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortelloni and cook according to the package instructions, typically 3-5 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Step 3: Make the Asiago Alfredo Sauce

  1. Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  2. Add the Cream: Stir in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Incorporate the Cheese: Gradually whisk in the grated Asiago and Parmesan cheeses until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with nutmeg (if using), salt, and pepper to taste.

Step 4: Combine and Serve

  1. Toss the Tortelloni: Add the cooked tortelloni to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce, tossing gently to coat.
  2. Plate the Dish: Divide the tortelloni Alfredo among four plates. Top each serving with slices of grilled chicken.
  3. Garnish: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and extra cheese, if desired. Serve immediately.
