  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning

For the Steak:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

For the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Optional Sides:

  • Steamed corn on the cob
  • Cilantro-lime rice
  • Roasted asparagus or green beans

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Cajun Seasoning

  1. In a small bowl, mix the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Set the seasoning blend aside.

Step 2: Season the Shrimp and Steak

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and toss them in olive oil and Cajun seasoning.
  2. Pat the steak dry and rub with olive oil and Cajun seasoning on all sides. Let both sit for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Step 3: Sear the Steak

  1. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and let it melt.
  2. Sear the steak for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness (use a meat thermometer: 135°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium).
  3. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Step 4: Cook the Shrimp

  1. In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed.
  2. Add the shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce

  1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the parsley and lemon juice. Drizzle the sauce over the shrimp and steak.

Step 6: Assemble and Serve

  1. Arrange the steak and shrimp on a platter, garnished with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.
  2. Serve with your chosen sides for a complete Cajun-inspired feast.
