Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Garlic Butter

  1. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, dried parsley (or Italian seasoning), and salt. Mix until well combined and smooth.

Step 2: Prepare the Bread

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Slice the loaf of bread lengthwise into two halves. Place the halves cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 3: Assemble the Garlic Bread

  1. Spread an even layer of the prepared garlic butter over each bread half, ensuring it covers the entire surface.
  2. Spread the basil pesto over the garlic butter, using the back of a spoon to distribute it evenly.

Step 4: Add the Cheese

  1. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over both halves of the bread. If you’re using cheddar cheese, add it on top for an extra cheesy kick.

Step 5: Bake the Bread

  1. Place the bread in the preheated oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  2. For an extra crispy, golden top, switch to the broiler setting for the last 1–2 minutes. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve
