Easy Tomato Spinach Ravioli Bake

  • Author: Amelia
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Main Dish:

  • 1 (25-ounce) package of frozen or fresh cheese ravioli
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar of marinara or tomato sauce
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)

For Garnishing (Optional):

  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Extra Parmesan cheese for topping

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray.

Step 2: Prepare the Sauce

In a bowl, mix the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. This will enhance the flavor of the store-bought sauce and make it taste homemade.

Step 3: Assemble the Ravioli Bake

  • Spread 1 cup of sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Arrange half of the ravioli in a single layer over the sauce.
  • Sprinkle half of the chopped spinach over the ravioli.
  • Add ½ cup of mozzarella cheese and ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Pour another 1 cup of sauce evenly over the layer.
  • Repeat the layering process with the remaining ravioli, spinach, and cheeses.
  • Pour the last bit of sauce over everything and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.

Step 4: Bake the Dish

Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. This will allow the ravioli to cook through without drying out.

Step 5: Remove the Foil and Finish Baking

Uncover the dish and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly. For an extra crispy top, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy

Remove from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil and a drizzle of olive oil, then enjoy!
