Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
- Begin by patting the chicken tenders dry with paper towels. This step is crucial to achieving a golden, crispy exterior when searing the chicken.
- In a small bowl, mix the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the chicken tenders, making sure they are well-coated on all sides.
Step 2: Sear the Chicken
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot and shimmering, add the seasoned chicken tenders in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding the pan, as this can cause the chicken to steam rather than sear.
- Cook the chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165°F (74°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
Step 3: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
- Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as this can make the sauce bitter.
- Stir in the chicken broth (or white wine) and red pepper flakes, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze and release the browned bits. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Add the lemon juice and fresh parsley, stirring to combine.
Step 4: Combine and Serve
- Return the cooked chicken tenders to the skillet, tossing them in the garlic butter sauce to coat. Let the chicken warm through for 1-2 minutes.
- Serve the Garlic Butter Chicken Tenders hot, garnished with additional parsley and lemon wedges. Pair with your favorite sides for a complete meal.
