Instructions
Prepare the Chicken:
- Prep and Coat: Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. In a shallow dish, mix the flour, salt, and black pepper. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- Sauté the Garlic: In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add a little more oil if needed, then sauté the minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Pour the mixture into the skillet and bring it to a gentle simmer.
- Thicken the Sauce: In another small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to form a slurry. Stir it into the sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
Combine and Serve:
- Add the Chicken: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, coating each piece in the sauce. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Garnish: Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped parsley or green onions over the chicken. Serve hot with your choice of side dishes.
