- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1 green onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Bread:
- 6 slices of baguette or sourdough bread, cut diagonally
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, halved (for rubbing)
Optional Garnishes:
- Extra chopped parsley
- Lemon zest
- Red pepper flakes
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Bread
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil on both sides.
- Toast the bread in the oven for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
- Once toasted, rub each slice lightly with the cut side of the garlic clove for extra flavor. Set aside.
Step 2: Make the Seafood Topping
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, minced garlic, smoked paprika, and Old Bay seasoning. Mix until smooth and well-blended.
- Fold in the chopped shrimp, lump crab meat, green onion, and parsley. Gently mix to combine, ensuring the seafood remains intact.
- Taste the mixture and season with salt and black pepper as needed.
Step 3: Assemble the Toasts
- Generously spoon the seafood mixture onto each slice of toasted bread, spreading it evenly to cover the surface.
- For added flavor, sprinkle a pinch of smoked paprika or red pepper flakes on top.
Step 4: Broil
- Preheat your broiler on high.
- Place the assembled toasts back onto the baking sheet and broil for 2-3 minutes, or until the topping is warmed through and slightly golden. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
- Remove the toasts from the oven and transfer them to a serving platter.
- Garnish with additional parsley, lemon zest, or red pepper flakes for an extra pop of color and flavor.
- Serve immediately and enjoy warm.
