  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (halal-certified)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Steak

  1. In a large bowl, toss the steak cubes with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Step 2: Sear the Steak Bites

  1. Add the steak bites to the skillet in a single layer, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  2. Sear the steak for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Step 3: Make the Sweet and Sticky Glaze

  1. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Stir to combine.

  1. Return the seared steak bites to the skillet and toss them in the sauce until evenly coated. Cook for 1-2 minutes, ensuring the glaze sticks to the steak.
