Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

Step 2: Combine Dry Ingredients

  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing to maintain a soft texture.

Step 3: Add Chocolate Chips

  1. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Step 4: Chill the Dough

  1. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Chilling helps prevent the cookies from spreading too much during baking.

Step 5: Preheat and Portion

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion the dough into 1.5-inch balls. Place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheets.
